Håkansböle’s Small Stable
Håkansböle manor, Vantaa
- 18.5.2024–15.9.2024
The small stable introduces you to rural life in the 1800s through observing, testing, and playing.
Vantaa City Museum has an exhibition in Håkansböle manor's Pikkutalli (“Small Stable”) every summer.
Do you know how to plait a horse’s mane? Can you stay on the back of a wild hobby horse? What will the wheel of fortune promise you today? At the handicraft points, you can make cows out of cones or make your own mouse to take home with you as a memory of the small stable.
The small stable also presents the manor’s original cabriolets, carriages, and sleighs, used for a number of different purposes. Who has taken a ride on the Milord carriage and the luxurious sleigh with a canopy? What kind of things were transported on wagons, gigs, and carts?
You can continue getting to know the life of the manor in the baking shed on the other side of the yard. The shed has a genuine baking oven and wooden stove.
The manor's yard exhibitions are open on May 18 - September 15, 2024, on Saturdays and Sundays, at 11:00-16:00. In July, the exhibitions are also open on Fridays, at 11:00-16:00. No admission fee.
