The museum area includes eleven buildings around an enclosed Ostrobothnian farmyard, as special item the tannery. In a stone building one room commemorating Anders Chydenius (1729-1803), the famous Finnish economist and the former vicar of Kaarlela. In the neighbourhood there are Öja Fishing Museum and Sealing Museum on the island of Tankar.
