Degerby Igor museum
The Degerby Igor museum tells stories of human interest about the lease period of Porkkala 1944-1956. This area, very close to Helsinbki, was leased to the Soviet Union after WW2.
The Degerby Igor-museum started in 1997 and tells about what happened before, and during and after the lease time. The most recent exhibition tells how the Soviet base prepared for a nuclear war.
We are transferring our past exhibitions into digital form which enables us to tell more about what happened e.g. in the Baltic states. The museum also offers a small shop.
