Eduardo Balanza: The Record Is Not Over Yet
Thank You for the Music - How Music Moves Us is an exhibition on how the experiences of listening to music, watching music videos or going to a concert can appear in the life and work of an artist, a music lover, a fan. National Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma until 17.6.2012.
From the film Dynamiittityttö, 1944.
The exhibition reveals the visual imagery of films shot in Helsinki between the 1930s and the 1960s. Design and architecture had a huge impact in the visual imagery of films, as they allowed the creation of different urban atmospheres. Designer clothes for films, made-up homes and environments commented on the prevailing reality, exaggerated contemporary phenomena and peeked into the future through imagination. Helsinki City Museum 15.2.2012-13.1.2013.
K-G Roos, Sicily 1959
The journalist and documentary photographer Karl-Gustav Roos´ (1937-1976) highly individual pictures are treasures of the archive that are now being seen for the first time in an exhibition. Roos was an uncompromising idealist, whose production combines a modern form language with a socially aware attitude rooted in humanity. The Finnish Museum of Photography, 1.2.2012-29.4.2012
