DESIGN A SWEET CHAIR! – Miniature Furniture Workshop

Sweet November! The Alvar Aalto Museum offers joyful activities to brighten the dark season.
Come and build fun and imaginative pieces of furniture from delicious materials inspired by the spirit of Alvar Aalto!

 

Furniture played an essential role in Aalto’s vision of buildings as complete works of art. One of his most famous furniture designs is Armchair 41, also known as the Paimio Chair.

While visiting the exhibition, explore other designs by Alvar and Aino Aalto, including lighting fixtures and furniture, and create your own miniature design inspired by the ideas presented in the exhibition. A variety of biscuits, cookies, and candies will be used as building materials. The selection is tempting and diverse, giving plenty of room for creativity.

So come and design a sweet furniture classic of your own! We look forward to welcoming you!

The workshop is included in the admission ticket to the Aalto2 Museum Centre.
