Saarijärvi Museum

The Saarijärvi Museum, responsible for art and cultural history museum operations, is a knowledge bank for its area, organizing art and cultural history exhibitions all year round. The Sculpture Park in the museum's courtyard and the permanent Saarijärvi Fine Arts Exhibition present the town's key artists and art ensembles. The courtyard also has a traditional vegetable garden and a restored meadow.

The courtyard also houses the Toivi Järvinen Art Home, which displays the art collection by Toivi and Osmo Järvinen. It includes Finnish art from the 1880s to the 1980s. Toivi and Osmo Järvinen acquired 84 works of art over the years, including works by Pekka Halonen, Wilho Sjöström, Magnus Enckell, Ville Vallgren and Hannes Autere. Most of the works are also on display in the home. The site is open to groups by appointment.

The museum shop offers local knowledge and timeless gifts.

The museum also has a summer locale of the Stone Age Village. The museum is also responsible for the exhibitions and collections of Tapper Brothers' Juhola, and as an expert service for the collections of the Saarijärvi Mannila Art Foundation and the Beda, Katri and Aune Herala Foundation.
