Temppeliaukio Church

Temppeliaukio Church is situated in the heart of Helsinki and excavated into solid rock.

 

The world famous Temppeliaukio Church was built in 1969. It is designed by two architect brothers, Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen. The church hall is covered with a copper dome, which is connected to the rock walls by reinforced concrete beams. 180 skylight windows surround the dome.

Guided tours

From September 1st till November 30th we offer a guided tour in Finnish on most weekdays at 2 pm with no extra charge (free admission with a Museum Card).
