Temppeliaukio Church
Lutherinkatu 3,
00100 Helsinki
Temppeliaukio Church is situated in the heart of Helsinki and excavated into solid rock.
The world famous Temppeliaukio Church was built in 1969. It is designed by two architect brothers, Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen. The church hall is covered with a copper dome, which is connected to the rock walls by reinforced concrete beams. 180 skylight windows surround the dome.
Temppeliaukio Church is open for visitors also during the pandemic. We take into conderation the current restrictions and care for the safety of those visiting us. At present a maximum of 10 people is allowed in the church at one time, this including the personnel on site. We strongly recommend the use of a face mask when visiting. Concerts and other events have been cancelled till Jan 31st.
