Director Chris McKim’s gritty documentary depicts the work and activism of artist David Wojnarowicz (1954–1992) in 1980s New York amid the AIDS epidemic and the negligence of the US government. Largely based on Wojnarowicz’s own recordings, films, photographs, and works, the documentary presents the artist’s fearless and subversive attitude toward a social situation that was extremely destructive and traumatic, especially for queer communities.

The film screening has been curated by artists Shia Conlon and Iona Roisin, whose exhibition GAG is on display in the small exhibition room of the Art Museum’s Wing.
